What is it for?

  • Analgesic

  • mild pain

  • headache

  • toothache

  • sprains

  • muscle pain

How is it administered? oral

Benefits: Inexpensive, ease to purchase and use, effective for mild pain, rarely any side effects

Drawbacks: Some people can become nauseous if they take acetaminophen on an empty stomach, prolonged constant use can cause kidney and liver issues

Danger signs:

  • Allergic reaction: hives, itching, swelling, breathing difficulties

  • bloody stools, bruising or bleeding (usually if taken with Warfarin or other blood thinners)

Check with your doctor before taking any medication to make sure you do not have conditions or prescriptions that will interact badly with the medicine.
